New Nephew

My future sister-in-law had her baby. As we all kind of expected she had a little boy. His name is Logan Kyle and we were all very excited to welcome him into the world.

Personal Thoughts

Wow! I can not believe how crazy things are in life right now.

For starters this semester is nearly over already. It seems like classes just started and they are almost over already. Plus with Thanksgiving break coming in a few days I am really feeling the presure to finish all of these projects and our upcoming portfolio. On top of all that, this semester being nearly over makes me realize how close graduation is. In a little less than six months I will finally be a college graduate. I have worked so hard these last three years that at some points I thought that it might never happen.

My non-school life has been pretty crazy as well. I have been trying to work on my wedding plans when I can but time is so limited. As a result it is starting to snowball on me. I really hope that I can melt the snowball during Thanksgiving break but I doubt it. Plus Miles and I have found a house that we love and are starting the buying process. Its exciting and scary all at the same time. I am excited to have my own house but wow does it make me feel grown up.

And last but not least, I am going to be an aunt just about any day now. I have so excited through this whole process because this will be my first niece or nephew. I really hope that she will have the baby while I am home for Thanksgiving or Christmas. But either way I will be waiting anxiously for at least a few more days.

Tell a Story- Miles and I

Most people can tell you the exact day that they met and fell in love with their significant other. Well I am NOT one of them. I don't even really remember how Miles and I met let alone the date that we met. What I do remember is the story of how we got from just knowing each other to where we are today.

When I was a freshman in high school my friend convinced me to join FFA. At first I was not real into it but after a while I started to really enjoy the other members of the group. So sophomore year I decide that I would take an Ag class so that I could spend time with these friends during school. By the end of the year, I had become very close to the members that were in my class and the class just above me . The nine of us were best friends and we hung out together all the time. We used to make up FFA events and beg our advisor to sponsor them so that we would have a good excuse to get together.

My junior year was a little different. I was still really close to all my FFA friends but I was beginning to spend a lot more time with two of these friends, Miles and his best friend Kevin. In Ag class it was just the three of us, our friend John, and a bunch of freshman. Between talking in Ag class and at lunch I was beginning to get close to Miles and Kevin. Sometimes they would drive me crazy because they teased me all the time but I knew they were just joking around. As the year went on I started spending more and more time with them and went out with them a couple times just the three of us. Then the day I had been dreading all year arrived, Graduation. Though I was only a junior many of my FFA friends, including Miles, were graduating. I was truly afraid that they would leave for college and we would all grow apart, especially Miles. He and I had become so close and he was going to be going to school nearly three hours away. But he and I agreed that we would keep in touch through email and messenger.

So the summer started and we talked about once a week and went out every weekend. When we went out Kevin usually went with us. However, July 3rd of that summer would be the first time that Miles and I went out just the two of us. I was driving around town after work on my way to the ballpark to see the fireworks. On my way Miles called me to see what my plans were for the evening. When I told him, he decided to come with me. We sat and watched the fireworks and talked about our weeks. After the show we decide to go to a party at a friends house. I was just going to go on my own so that he would not have to drive back to town, but he insisted that I ride with him. We talked a lot that night about him leaving for college soon and I told him how scared I was about loosing contact with everyone but he assured me that he would do his part to keep in touch.

About a month later Miles left for school. I was a little bummed at first but he totally held up his side of the deal. He would call me about once a week and any time that we were online at that same time he would talk to me on messenger. And every weekend that he came home he would call me and ask me to go do something with him and Kevin. Every now and then Kevin would be busy so Miles and I would end up going out alone, but we didn't care because we were so comfortable with each other and we always had a great time. As these incidents became more frequent so did the phone calls. It went from once a week to about two or three times a week.

Then one day I realized that we were not really just friends anymore. I called him one night to talk because I was very worried about a mole that I was having removed the next day. Like all my other friends, he assured me that everything would be fine. As I was driving home the next day I got a voice message from Miles. He had called just to make sure that I was okay. He was the only one that called so I knew that he was the only one that really understood how scared I was.

It was few weeks later that Miles called and started asking me very different questions. He kept asking me if I like him "in a going out sorta way". I was so fluster because i wasn't really sure what he thought of our relationship and I did not want to push another guy away because I had a crush on him. I found out that Kevin had heard me tell one of my girlfriends that I like Miles and had relayed the information because he knew that Miles liked me. Two days later Miles and I went on our first date (December 4, 2004) and we have been together ever since.

Looking back now, nearly four years later I can't believe how blind we were about what was going on from July to December. Really we started dating the night we watched the fireworks but it took us six months to admit it. Now we have been together almost four years and are getting married in June. I know that there isn't anyone else in the world that I would rather spend the rest of my life with.
